In 2023, Topps introduced one of the most exciting new products in recent memory – MLB Rookie Debut Patch Autographs. While RPAs have long been intriguing prospects for collectors, these cards feature a special MLB DEBUT patch taken directly from the sleeve of the jersey a player wears in his first big-league game. Unsurprisingly, the 1/1 masterpieces proved to be a massive hit, prompting Topps to once again produce the cards for its ensuing Chrome Update sets.
Lusiangel Acuña played his first MLB game in September, 2024. That was too late to get him in that years' Topps Chrome Update release. As a result, it was pushed to 2025 where it ranks as one of the most desirable MLB Debut Patch Autographs in the product.
Acuña, the brother of superstar Ronald Acuña Jr., is known for his speed, athleticism, and advanced defensive skills. A switch-hitter with quick hands and strong instincts, he brings impact potential on the basepaths and has the potential to be a dynamic top-of-the-order threat.
